Put into practice this means they offer a wide selection of films whilst avoiding revenue generation tactics that don’t benefit the customer (e.g. late fees or contract lock in periods). LOVEFiLM has grown rapidly over the last decade thanks to this customer-centric strategy. It certainly seems to have worked as 20% of all new LOVEFiLM customers are driven by referrals from their existing customer base. Delivery time

9 out of 10 dispatches are within 1 business day of the disc being returned. LOVEFiLM are the largest first class customer of the Royal Mail and as such ensure that your discs are with you as soon as possible. Here’s the typical turn around time for disc dispatch:

• LOVEFiLM receives your disc (Monday)
• The next disc is sent out within one working day (Tuesday)
• Your disc is mailed first class so should reach you the next day (Wednesday)

Because LOVEFiLM have so much stock and buying power they can get you the films that you want quicker. With other smaller DVD rental companies you may have to wait longer to receive the most popular DVDs. This is less of an issue with LOVEFiLM as they have got very good at anticipating demand and ordering enough stock so you get the discs you want, when you want.

1) Trailers, reviews, news and more

Last year LOVEFiLM launched this new trailers, news and reviews section. It totally revolutionised the experience of browsing for films on their site. Plus, it’s not just trailers that they’ve added, there is also a wealth of information about the film including reviews by critics and site members.

2) Watch content online

There are 5,000 films available to watch online straight from your computer. We’ve highlighted the “Watch now” button above that lets you watch the film straight away. Plus, LOVEFiLM also gives you advice on which cables to use to connect your laptop to your TV. There is a whole “watch online” section which allows you to search on-demand content.

3) LOVEFiLM player

The website gives you full details of the LOVEFiLM player. Think i-player on your TV but brought to you by LOVEFiLM. For the price of your monthly subscription you’ll be able to browse thousands of films and select them to watch there and then.

Currently, you have to have either a Sony Bravia TV or a Sumsung Internet enabled TV to take advantage of the service. It's also now launched on the PS3 (there are also rumours that it’ll be available via the Wii soon). You’ll still need to sign up to LOVEFiLM online and can still rent DVDs through the post, it’s simply an additional way to rent films when you want.
